ISLE OF EASE in SQUAREROOMS Magazine Singapore Oct 2016
ISLE OF EASE for BARRIO by Mex Out
Commercial Project 2016
Isle of Ease has brought touches of the desert to the newest Mexican food joint in Singapore. Located on Level 1 of 313@Somerset, Barrio's outdoor style, neighbourhood beer garden features an assortment of the quirkiest mini cacti in our terrazzo planters lining its balustrade. A potted cactus garden on a desert-like rocky landscape completes the Mexican vibe in Isle of Ease's signature minimal yet playful style and lends one more instagram worthy touch to this festive space designed by architectural design practice FUUR.
Concrete terrazzo planters in four shapes and two subtle colours. A balance of nostalgia, elegance and a sense of playfulness featuring a mix of quirky cacti and succulents.
Terrazzo is a concrete flooring and wall material with little coloured specks. Commonly used in Singapore's early HDB flats, this nostalgic material has been making a comeback worldwide, with the likes of film director Wes Anderson using it for the entire flooring when designing a café in Milan called Bar Luce. Be it small touches to entire interiors like Valentino’s NY Flagship store, the terrazzo trend is definitely making an impact and now you too can add it to your space with Isle of Ease's latest planters!
